Jewelry Care
How To Care For Your Coesque Jewelry
We want you to enjoy your Coesque pieces for as long as possible. Follow the below steps to ensure your jewelry is cared for correctly
-Wipe down jewelry after each wear with your Coesque care cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
-Chlorinated water and salt water can damage and discolor your gold-plated jewelry. Remove jewelry prior to heading to the pool, sauna or hot tub
-Keep gold-plated jewelry away from chemical products like detergent, perfumes, hairspray, lotions and creams. Wait until your lotion/ cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear your jewelry.
-Acidic food ingredients like tomatoes, lemon juice and vinegar are also a no-no as they impact the gold plating.
-Store each piece of jewelry separately to avoid scratches
-Stay away from jewelry cleaners
Curated With The Highest Quality Materials
Coesque pieces are curated with the highest quality materials. The jewelry is six times plated, which makes it both corrosion and oxidation free and enhances the durability. We electroplate base metals such as Brass, Rhodium and 925 Sterling Silver, with Gold. We avoid Copper as a base metal, because when Copper reacts, it turns your skin green.
Electroplating is a process that coats jewelry with a thin layer of another metal, using an electric current. The process involves placing the jewelry in a solution containing the metal to be plated and passing an electric current through the piece and the solution. The current partially dissolves the metals and creates a chemical bond between them. The coating is usually around .0002 inches thick.
Once the plating is complete, the jewelry is finished with simulated diamonds. Most of our products contain 5A Cubic Zirconia, which is the highest grade. The highest quality stones are hard and clear, with a hardness of 8.5. Grade 5A Cubic Zirconia is sometimes thought of as flawless VVS simulated diamonds.
